Palestine | Monday, 12 October 2026
The Palestinian Network for Media Development Organization (PNMD), in cooperation with Google News Initiative (GNI), launched the second day of its specialized training program aimed at strengthening digital verification skills and promoting the use of Google tools in journalism, with the participation of Palestinian journalists from various governorates across Palestine.
The program is part of PNMD’s ongoing efforts to support young Palestinian journalists, strengthen their professional and technical capacities, and enable them to keep pace with rapid developments in digital media and artificial intelligence (AI). These efforts contribute to fostering a media environment better equipped to respond to technological and professional transformations.
The program aims to enhance participants’ skills in using digital tools and AI technologies throughout the various stages of journalistic work, including research, information verification, content and data analysis, story development, and journalistic content production. It also emphasizes the importance of using these tools responsibly and adhering to professional and ethical standards in journalism.
The second training day focused on NotebookLM, introducing its capabilities in supporting journalistic work and helping journalists extract insights, summarize information, and analyze sources and content more efficiently. These capabilities can enhance their research skills, information management, and journalistic content production.
The training was delivered by Pamela Kasrouani, a trainer with Google News Initiative for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. She presented practical guidance and hands-on applications on integrating AI tools into journalistic work and using them for research, analysis, information organization, and content production, while supporting professional efficiency and upholding standards of accuracy and credibility.
The Palestinian Network for Media Development Organization continues to implement training activities and programs aimed at empowering Palestinian journalists, developing their digital skills, and strengthening their ability to use modern tools and technologies to produce professional and reliable media content.
